The contracting officer may insert the provision at 5352.211-9020 Evaluation of Items Requiring Reconditioning, Modification, Repair or Overhaul by the Government, substantially as written, in Section M when the Government elects to consider purchase of surplus material and it will be necessary for the Government to recondition, rework, repair, modify or overhaul the material after delivery but before use (other than for inspection), the reasonable cost of such modification, repair, rework or reconditioning may, when known, be added to the surplus offeror's price for evaluation purposes.
