(a) (Added) A local contracting officer review board will examine the candidate’s qualifications for the proposed issuance of warrants for contracts over the simplified acquisition threshold. The purpose of the review is to provide objective information on which the appointing authority can make a reasonable judgment.
(b) (Added) SCCO, or designated representative, will chair the review boards. For each warrant issued, the contracting office shall maintain a record of the review board comments and recommendations and documentation requirements of FAR 1.603-2 and supplements thereto.
(c) (Added) SCCO is authorized to select, appoint, and terminate the appointment of contracting officers. SMC/PK shall conduct periodic reviews of all contracting officer appointments.
