I34G 52.209-9G13 PRODUCTION LOT SAMPLE TESTING DSCR (OCT 1996)

(a) The Production Lot Samples shall be IAW ANSI/ASQC Z1.4-1993,
Level as specified in the Procurement Item Description (PID), selected
at random by and submitted via the cognizant Government Inspector (QAR).
All transportation charges incurred in the submission and return of any
production lot sample shall be borne by the Contractor. The sample
shall be packaged, packed, marked and shipped to the testing facility
specified in the PID. The samples shall be identified by contract
number and lot number and be clearly marked "PRODUCTION LOT SAMPLE".
(b) Such samples shall be delivered to the testing facility in
sufficient time prior to the delivery date of the production articles
to allow a ______ day period for testing by the laboratory and written
notification by the Contracting Officer of the approval or disapproval
of the samples. Within _____ days of the receipt of the samples, the
testing facility shall notify the Contracting Officer through the
Product Specialist, DSCR-______, of the results of the testing with a
recommendation for approval or disapproval. The Contracting Officer
shall provide the Contractor written notification of approval/disapproval
within ________ days from the date samples were submitted for testing.
(c) In order for a production lot to be acceptable, all samples
representative of the lot must meet all of the contract requirements.
Failure of a sample unit to pass any test shall be cause for the rejection
of the entire lot. In the event the Contractor fails to deliver any
production lot sample for testing within the timeframe specified above
or the Contacting Officer disapproves any production lot sample, the
Contracting Officer shall notify the Contractor, in writing, of the
appropriate course of action. If the Contracting Officer should
require the manufacture of a new production lot or a rework of the
rejected production lot, the foregoing procedures shall apply to the
new or reworked production lots.
(d) The production lot samples shall be returned to the Contractor
by the testing facility. The approved samples are to be included with
shipment of the production articles of the same lot.
