My high school GPA wasn’t great, but I am hoping to make up for it with my College GPA. As of right now I have a 3.90 GPA, but I expect that go to down to a 3.86 once our grades for Summer Session 1 are officially posted and calculated into our GPAs. I have a question about the Tulane Guaranteed Transfer Program. Well I just began studying at college over this past spring, and am taking summer classes right now so that I’ll be officially done with freshman year and considered a sophomore. On their website, I think they say something about English composition, foreign language, and math and at least a 3.0 GPA (3.3+ gets the standardized test scores requirement waived). Tulane University has a highly competitive admissions pool with a low acceptance rate and high average SAT/ACT scores. Which is expected when you’ve been top of your class doing the bare minimum in high school, you know? Lots of students who truly believe that they will transfer, decide against it after a year, so it is perfectly OK for you to accept the guaranteed transfer offer, and decide later if it is what you really want to do. My thinking is it’s not unethical because it’s not a binding program, I’m just agreeing to show interest in the transfer program, but I wanted other opinions.
